Orca Elementary School in Seattle’s Rainier Valley has an excellent gardening program where K-8 classes are engaged in learning about agriculture, food security and community development using their garden as the classroom.
KTAO in Taos New Mexico is the world’s only Solar Radio Station, powered by the sun. Clips from this story were featured on the History Channel’s show Life After People in the Sky’s The Limit episode.

With daily power outages that amount to few hours of reliable electricity in Kathmandu, the Voltaic bag was a handy piece of insurance for our long days of video production in the field.
